Augsburg Fortress Publishers

Augsburg Fortress Publishers is the official publishing house of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). It has two publishing imprints, Augsburg Books and Fortress Press.

Augsburg Books provides popular titles to inform, guide and nourish Christian faith in daily life and at every stage of life. Books are designed to meet the needs of Christians of all denominations as well as readers who are not committed Christians or churchgoers, but who may be seeking answers to spiritual questions.

Fortress Press is the academic imprint of Augsburg Fortress. It publishes scholarly and creative works in biblical and theological studies including Jewish-Christian studies, religion and science, and feminist theology, as well as in history of Christianity, ethics, homiletics, and pastoral care. The list of publications aims to stimulate reflection and discussion of religious questions of significance to Christians and others and to provide useful resources for students and scholars, professionals in ministry, and general readers.
